There are many options and varieties of food to give to dogs,  from simple recipes to more elaborate ones; all with the aim of making the animal’s diet healthy and balanced.

There are many benefits of sharing culinary tastes with dogs, especially in terms of their quality of life. We recommend that you consult a veterinarian about the foods any furry friend can ingest,  as some have a sensitive stomach. Here are 6 salad recipes for dogs:

Salad for dogs with pasta and fish

Ingrediants:

  • Pasta
  • Frozen fish
  • Crab sticks
  • Spinach
  • Carrots
  • Apple

Preparation:

  1. Cook the pasta, spinach and carrots. 
  2. Once cooked, add them to the fish chosen for this dish.
  3. Mix everything, drain it well and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Then, once it reaches the right temperature, add the crab sticks and the diced apple.
  5. Mix well until the ingredients blend.
  6. Finally, if you want,  you can add grated carrots to the salad.

Rice salad with various vegetables

Ingrediants:

  • Chicken, meat or tuna  (500 grams)
  • 2 cups of brown rice
  • 1 cup of broccoli
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 5 cups of water or broth without seasonings
  • 3 potatoes

Preparation:

  1. Wash all the vegetables:  broccoli, carrots, spinach and potatoes.
  2. Peel the carrots and potatoes.
  3. Clean the spinach.
  4. Next,  cut the broccoli, potatoes and carrots into cubes. Do the same with the type of meat you have chosen.
  5. Then,  put all the vegetables in a pan. Also add the meat, rice and broth.
  6. Cook over medium heat for 45 minutes.
  7. Once everything is cooked, let it rest.
  8. Stir again and serve at room temperature.

Salad of sardines and sautéed vegetables

Ingrediants:

  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 clean sardines (without bones or skin)
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1 cup of brown rice
  • 6 cups of water

Preparation:

  1. Clean the sardines well, removing both the bones and the skin.
  2. Chop the 2 celery sticks.
  3. Dice the rest of the vegetables.
  4. Place a saucepan of water over medium heat.
  5. Incorporate all the ingredients and cook them for 45 minutes.
  6. Once the process is finished, let it cool and then serve it all.

Fruits salad

Ingrediants:

  • 2 cups of papaya
  • 2 cups of watermelon
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 apple
  • A melon
  • 1 liter of watermelon juice (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Clean the fruit by removing all the seeds.
  2. Once clean,  cut it into cubes.
  3. If you want,  you can add a liter of watermelon juice  to make this salad even more delicious.
  4. It is ready to be served.

Salads for dogs: with fish and asparagus

Ingrediants:

  • Green or white asparagus 
  • Clean fish (without thorns)
  • Egg
  • Carrot
  • Zuchini
  • Mushrooms

Preparation:

  1. First of all, check that the fish has no bones. If it has them, take them off.
  2. Next, cook the fish and drain it.
  3. Fry the courgette, mushrooms and fish in the oil.
  4. Next, beat the eggs and add all the ingredients you have cooked.
  5. Finally,  add the asparagus and grated carrot  to the still hot mixture.
  6. Let it cool before serving.

Tuna and vegetable salad

Ingrediants:

  • A slice of skinned or canned tuna
  • Two stalks of celery
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation:

  1. If you choose a slice of tuna, make sure it has no skin before cooking it. In any case, even canned will do.
  2. Cut the celery, carrots and potatoes into cubes.
  3. Cook the vegetables and let them cool. The concept “al dente” is not valid for animals as well, so it is better that the vegetables are soft and well cooked.
  4. Once everything has cooled down,  mix the vegetables with the tuna and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
  5. Let the mixture cool and then serve it.
