Antistress dog team: where did the idea come from?
It would seem that the people at United Airlines have read all the articles in My Pets and understand that dogs are excellent allies for calming stress.
Thinking about the number of people who invade airports at certain times of the year and how large crowds, combined with the fear of flying, can stress certain passengers, the airline wanted to anticipate and take matters into their own hands.
This initiative was first tried in 2014 and repeated the following year. The name of the project is “United Paws”, literally United Paws.
Walter Woolf, the veterinarian who looks after this team of anti-stress dogs, explains that petting a dog has been scientifically proven to release hormones called oxytocins, linked to emotional feelings, which are able to reduce stress levels and blood pressure. , as well as calming breathing.
The development of the idea
In light of all these benefits, the airline came up with a wonderful idea: use a team of stress-relieving dogs!
