Tips for brushing your dog's coat without problems

Brushing the dog daily is one of the owners’ duties. If your pet has long hair, it can be challenging, but it will benefit your furry friend a lot. For him, who will have a shiny, clean coat, and for you, who will have a hairless house.

Brush it daily

Even if it takes time,  brushing your dog will decrease the amount of hair in the house  and keep it in good condition. The animal must get used to being brushed from an early age. This way, as an adult, he will be comfortable while you do this.

If an animal is brushed properly, it will be like a massage for him. Although he may be restless at first, he will gradually realize the benefits, and relax.

When your dog is a puppy, you can put him on your lap and brush him gently but firmly to make sure he doesn’t run away.

Instead, as an adult the best thing to do is sit on a chair or stool,  at a height that allows you to brush the top of the animal, and then finish by sitting on the ground.

The benefits of brushing the hair

Brushing your dog every day not only reduces hair loss, but also allows you to pamper him,  untie knots, and check the pet’s skin to make sure there are no external parasites. This habit also decreases the bad smell of the fur, making the effects of cleaning last longer after taking a bath.

If, on the other hand, the dog has short hair, just brush it weekly. In spring and autumn dogs usually shed their hair, so you have to intensify this habit to reduce their presence in the house.

The brush must have natural bristles and you must buy it at a pet store. There are for all types of hair. They also exist in the shape of a glove, ideal for short-haired dogs.

How to brush

You must always follow the direction of hair growth  starting from the head, and then continue with the back, hips, legs and then ending with the tail. Eventually you can give your dog a treat for doing well.

Always start brushing from the head, even if your dog has little hair in this area. There may be some tangles between the ears, so take a good look at this part. To do this, hold the ear with one hand, and brush it gently with the other. Move the brush as if it were a brush. This way you will save time.

To untie the knots, use the tip of the brush. They could also form in the tail, legs and armpits of the animal. Start brushing the outermost hair, until you get to the one next to the skin.

With these simple tips you will be able to brush your 4-legged friend at best,  and you will be much happier in a hairless home.
