George Clooney donates $10,000 to save dogs

It doesn’t matter how much money you have, but what you do with what you have. And that says a lot about a person. And if you use some of your capital, which may not even be money, to help save dogs, that’s wonderful. This is what George Clooney and his wife, lawyer Amal Alamuddin, did. The couple donated $10,000 to save nine Cockers from an unscrupulous owner.

Famous and ordinary people, united to save dogs

The dogs were in a house in California, in the Mojave Desert. And this is where the members of Camp Cocker Rescue arrived, where they found them in dire condition,  and required urgent veterinary consultation.

Since the association operates mainly thanks to donations, he immediately asked for help  to be able to meet the costs of the care of the cockers freed from this ordeal.

Through its website, the organization asks for a contribution starting from 5 dollars. So imagine what a surprise when their members found out they hit $10,000 with just one donation. And they were even more impressed when they learned it came from famous people.

For this reason, they asked the couple to make their gesture public, to encourage others to collaborate with their non-profit center.

Clooney, the protagonist of his life as well as of his films

To tell the truth,  it is nothing new that Clooney, in addition to being considered the most coveted bachelor in Hollywood before marrying Alamuddin, has always been a person who puts his body and soul  to defend his beliefs.

From an artistic point of view,  even when he is behind the camera, he creates works that, in addition to being of great quality, openly demonstrate his political commitment.

On the other hand,  his wife also supported his obligations to human rights causes. From a media point of view, for example, she was one of Julian Assange’s lawyers in the Wikileaks case.

No wonder this couple’s sensitivity also leads them to defend animals and encourage the adoption of stray dogs.

Cockers are getting the veterinary care they need

Going back to the nine Cockers, let’s celebrate the fact that they’ve had a better life. They were treated by their old owner as if they were merchandise.

It seems that these animals  have never received any kind of veterinary care and that they have not had contact with humans. And many lived under the elements.

Here are some health problems they presented:

  • Breast cancer
  • Dental diseases
  • Perforated eardrums
  • Calcification of the ears
  • Skin infections
  • Ingrown toenails
  • Cherry eyes

Thanks to the many help received, the dogs will be fine

Although all the dogs needed to be treated, the most pressing case was Abigail’s. The dog had huge breast tumors.

Additionally,  while many dogs were thin due to a lack of adequate nutrition,  others were overweight.

The good news is that these animals will be able to get better with the help of many people.

It is always nice to see how, although there are many abused dogs, there are also good people willing to save animals.

And who you are doesn’t matter. What matters are the facts.
